You know me, I am a sucker for a gorgeous interior. I love hunting out Instagrammable restaurants and hotels, and finding places that please my eye for interiors on a reasonable budget. To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we found cheap flights to Barcelona. As soon as I started planning a trip to this gorgeous city, I was on the lookout for something a bit unusual when it came to our accommodation.
Let’s start with how bloody gorgeous this entire building is. From it’s beautiful facade, to the intricate doorway, you are welcomed with this minimalist, v Instagram hallway. If you like a houseplant or two, a floor worthy of the “#ihavethisthingwithfloors” hashtag, and exposed brickwork, then DestinationBCN is for you.
Not only does it look great, but we had the perfect welcome. Everyone who we met at DestinationBCN were absolute babes. They were keen to help, quick to respond, and v v welcoming. Exactly what I needed when I arrived feeling more than a little flustered from losing my camera on the plane. I’ve definitely got my eye on a group stay in one of their beautiful apartments one day!
I’m not sure I have done this place justice, but our room was absolutely stunning. Architecturally, and ticking all of my interior design needs, it was a bit of me. It’s got Scandi, minimal vibes, balanced with feeling very in keeping with it’s Spanish location. I love hotel bedding, and the Swissflex bed did not let me down!
We stayed in Room 2, which has this stunning bay window with seating, definitely the most amazing feature of the room. The doors close off completely, so you can plunge into darkness for ultimate zzzz’s. There’s a Nespresso coffeemaker and kettle out there too, for all you coffee addicts.
Whilst enjoying the seriously amazing rain shower, you can indulge in Malin + Goetz toiletries, ermigaaad I am still dreaming of that Rum bodywash! I am going to have to treat myself. It’s the perfect balance of clean, scented and unisex. Just be aware that the shower and toilet are just behind a frosted glass screen from the bedroom…so you need to be comfortable with your sleeping pal! The fluffy towels also made me realise it’s time we replaced our own, they were lovely!
A few more practical things that made for a lovely stay, free (reliable!) WiFi, air conditioning, Apple TV and a hairdryer. Perfect for hand luggage travelers!
I spent a good amount of time checking the location of our apartment in relation to all of the Barcelona sightseeing we wanted to do and it was perfect. On the edge of the Eixample region, it it just a few minutes walk to Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, and within easy reach of the beach and El Born, it suited us down to the ground. It was also steps from the Metro and several bus stops to make use of the local transport.
We reached DestinationBCN within 1 hour of landing in Barcelona, so it’s a perfect commute too!

There is content coming up all this week! I’m excited to share more about where we ate, and what we saw. Here’s all my travel planning posts in the meantime.

Disclaimer: this trip was booked and paid for entirely myself. I was not invited to stay at DestinationBCN or asked to review. We loved every second!
