Westonbirt Arboretum: 5 Instagram spots

Happy Sunday everyone!

We have just had the cosiest autumnal weekend you could ask for, so I couldn’t not share the details with you all, could I?!

Staying in Bristol with friends, we were treated to home cooked food and a night by the fire on Saturday evening, followed by a Sunday roast today. Perfect.

This was to warm us up after what turned out to be a very rainy visit to Westonbirt Arboretum.

“Arboretum” was one of those words that I felt like I knew what it meant, but I could have been entirely making it up, so just to be clear, it is “a botanical collection composed exclusively of trees”. Westonbirt Arboretum specifically, is home to some of the world’s most beautiful, rare and extraordinary plants.

AKA Instagram heaven during autumn!

I mean, let’s be real here…I’m not exactly a green fingered expert about to fill you in on the history of British trees am I? But what I feel like you cheeky lot might be more interested in is where on earth to get the best Insta shots this autumn. Well guess what, I’ve done all the research for you…

Sand Earth

Filled with these beautiful red leaves!

STIHL Treetop Walkway

Possibly a little more picturesque when it isn’t hammering with rain, but still offers a stunning aerial view of Westonbirt Arboretum.

The Link

I feel like I haven’t quite done this the justice it deserves, but I loved this stunning arched walkway.

Broad Drive

I mean, who wouldn’t want an Insta featuring that stunning view?

Maple Loop

And of course, if you do have to put up with one of the rainiest days this autumn…have a fab umbrella on hand (thanks Ian!). This little area of winding paths and pretty trees was beaut.

Westonbirt Arboretum is situated just outside of Tetbury in Gloucestershire, which is around an hour and a half from where we live…I often forget how lucky we are that places like this really aren’t too far away.

Do you have any must see spots near you, that we should visit this autumn? Let me know on Instagram or Twitter!
